This time not only do I have a brand that you absolutely have to hear, but I also have a raging killer of a badass metal band that absolutely made for active rock radio and a group that is about to explode onto the mainstream!!


The SF Bay Area’s DRESS THE DEAD is a collection of some of the best musicians in the area and collectively they made some of the best music to come out of the Bay Area in years...Formed in 2016 and playing live by the end of that year with vocalist Peter Dolving (The Haunted) until solidifying the lineup in 2018 with vocalist Kayla Dixon... DtD is a cavalcade of experienced and seasoned musicians and was formed by guitarist Craig Locicero (Forbidden, Man Made God, Spiral Arms) Drummer Mark Hernandez (Forbidden, Vio-Lence, Re:Ignition) Guitarist Mikey Rowan (Insolence), and bassist James Walker (Man Made God)...



On January 5th, 2021 Dress the Dead released the single “Knives Out” on all platforms. The single is the first release by the band after signing to their new label Blood Blast distribution a digital subsidiary of Nuclear Blast Records. Dress the Dead first announced the signing in December along with a plan to release one new track per month for the first 8 months of 2021. After the 8 tracks are all released, they will become available in full album format as well. “We are absolutely thrilled to be part of the Blood Blast family. The time has finally come to release a plethora of new music to the world and we wouldn’t want to do it any other way. Blood Blast is the perfect home for us in these uncertain times in the music industry because we can control the flow of our content. This appeals to us more than the other way around in 2021.”



Dress the Dead is one of the most promising newly signed bands on the scene today. With extremely well-written songs that are creaming with deadly riffs and mind-melting solos held together by thunderous bass & drums build a solid metal/heavy rock sound foundation for one of the best up and coming female vocalists in metal Kayla Dixon.  Kayla Dixon is not only an enigmatic frontwoman with a powerful presence, but she’s also an accomplished theatrical singer and actor. Her vocal qualities help give Dress the Dead a unique sound that no other band possesses. Kayla's vocals melt your mind in a supremely metal way. It's very rare to find a metal vocalist that combines metal with an operatic style and you match that with the enigmatic guitar solos of Bay Area Thrash legend Craig Locicero and heavyweight championship quality songs since day one. I have paid close attention to this band since its inception and everything they do is solid gold and only smart moves are made which is justified by the resume of this very solid lineup. Dress The Dead is one of the best bands out today and I could recommend them enough and I highly look forward to the next 8 months of singles to be released...



Dress the Dead will be making their European debut at the Dynamo Metal Fest in Eindhoven in the summer of 2021. This will be followed up by a full tour…Covid-19 permitting.

In the world of death metal and slam it’s hard not to like the mighty Internal Bleeding... Now before I write this a word of thanks... I just went through one of the worst times of my life right smack in the middle of doing the research for this blog and I took a week off... Watching I.B’s Smoke Sesh videos and listening to the band's latest album on Spotify really helped me get through some of the darkest days of my life and I thank them for that...  When I started getting into the extreme metal scene at The Workshop in Ceres California, Internal Bleeding is a band I heard a lot about and I would check em out on YouTube from time to time, and of course, they would be on my Spotify radar when that came to be and of course, I listened to everything I could researching this
