The Appalachian Mountains are as beautiful as it gets. It can also be a dark desolate place where you are Isolated from so society, Especially if you are kids that play black metal. Hailing from Wears Valley Tennesee Forest of Jinn is a Black Metal band that draws from the cold dark mountains of East Tennesee. Labeled as Apalacian Ritual Black Metal Forest of Jinn's music is dark, complex, and mesmerizing licks that transform into udderly intense Black Metal. The band's debut album entitled "Aag Ke Ped" is a throwback to the crusty depths of the origins of gritty black metal bands of days past. Released on Holloween of 2020, This 3 song EP that can be found on Itunes, Spotify, or wherever you download music is a devilish detour of your everyday norm that makes you contemplate life in a different hue of black...



Starting as a solo project in 2016 Forest of Jinn resurfaced in 2019 consisting of Vocalist, Mason Solimini (MURMMUR,) Dawson Knappen on guitar (ISRAPHEL), Bassist, Neil Metcalf (ANIMAL), And Andria Blakemore on drums (GOD ANUBIS). Forest of Jinn has a sound that reflects their surroundings and makes you reflect on what is around you more darkly. When you gaze apon the mountains that surround them in these cold fall/winter months a dark, erie presense surrounds you in an ora that is reflected in the music of Forest of Jinn.



Forest of Jinn is a band that focuses on the balance of nature and humankind, The lyrics reflect the way they see the world. These individuals are descendants of an ancient land that revokes a time and place of solitude and darkness that is brought forward in their music. I recently spoke to Mason from Forest of Jinn and asked him a couple of questions and here is what he had to say. First of all, I asked: "How did the forest of jinn start and walk me through the creative process of starting a black metal band in the middle of the Tennessee mountains?? To which he replied "Well back in 2016 I was in a very dark part of my life, and in an attempt to channel all the darkness that was around me I started playing black metal, forest was my solo project for a few years up until early 2020 after I got over my teenage angst I started seeing the world through my true eyes. For what it really is, a giant lie so I started writing about the ignorance of modern humans, its kind of weird being a black metal band in the center of the Bible Belt especially because we're the only metal band in pigeon forge, almost like the town operates in its mindless way while the truth lurks right under their noses. I then asked, "Neil Metcalf our bassist recorded Aag Ke Ped on his computer with a basic lil mic, it was a bit of a hassle because we lost the entire first recording so we had to re-record the whole thing all of the songs on Aag Ke Ped will be re-recorded for our upcoming album “wendigo” But it was fun to record we all had a good time after we fucked with the levels for 2 days...
